As the Child, Youth & Family Services Community Partnerships Manager, you are responsible for building and maintaining relationships that support the goals of the Child, Youth and Family Services (CYFS) Division. You will establish and maintain partnerships with local, state, and national partners, develop and conduct outreach and public relations functions, and represent the division. Your work is conducted at the local, state, and national levels, supervised by the CYFS Division Director, and performed in collaboration with CAPSLO staff and partners. You support CAPSLO’s mission by leveraging external resources and relationships, and positioning the CYFS Division to provide high-quality services to children, families, and communities.
We would live to hear from someone who:
- Has a Bachelor's degree in public relations, communications, social services, non-profit management, education, early childhood education, or a related field. (Master's degree preferred)
- Has at least 5 years of experience in community outreach, public relations, communications, ad/or related fields.
OR
- Eight years of experience in public relations, communications, social services, non-profit management, education, early childhood education, and/or a related field; including at least 5 years of experience in community outreach, public relations, communications, and/or related fields.
- Experience working with early childhood education programs preferred.
As the CYFS Community Partnerships Manager, you will:
- Build and maintain partnerships with agencies, educational institutions, and organizations at all levels.
- Develop pipelines to increase hiring of qualified staff and enrollment of eligible clients.
- Attend meetings, events, and forums to establish or maintain relationships with partners.
- Collaborate with staff to increase family child care providers contracting with the division.
- Implement strategies to position the division as a key partner in California’s Universal Pre-K initiatives.
- Lead outreach and public relations functions across 10 California counties.
- Maximize partner development and division visibility by working with various departments.
- Develop and track goals and key performance indicators for partnerships, outreach, and public relations.
- Monitor and guide staff efforts to ensure regular, timely engagement.
- Attend administrative and management meetings to inform goals and strategies.
- Train staff in skills that promote partnership, outreach, and public relations goals.
- Enhance engagement and visibility through social media and other communication channels.
- Represent the CYFS Division at community events and public forums.
- Dedicate yourself to the goals and philosophy of the CYFS Division and CAPSLO.
- Adhere to all applicable safety rules and practices.
Additional Eligibility Qualifications:
- Must be able to relate well to all people of the community regardless of color, national origin, religion, sex, pregnancy, age, marital status, veteran status, sexual orientation, disability or socio-economic level.
- Must be at least 18 years of age by date of hire.
- Must submit proof of current vaccination status for measles, pertussis, and influenza (or a current, signed influenza declination form) in compliance with SB 792.
- Must comply with the CAPSLO COVID-19 Vaccination Policy, either being fully vaccinated or sign a COVID-19 vaccination declination form.
- Must complete a health screening physical completed within 30 days prior to employment and a current TB skin test/Chest X-Ray.
- Employment is contingent upon meeting all job requirements and background requirements: criminal history check (Inclusive of DOJ, FBI and Child Abuse), acknowledgement of child abuse reporting responsibility, criminal record statement (Form LIC508), etc. A criminal history clearance is required prior to employment.
- Upon hire agency staff will check the Megan’s Law (or the current sexual predator website) to ensure each staff being hired is clear for employment. Program administrative staff will check the website annually to ensure all program staff are cleared to work.
- Must meet the Head Start Performance Standards and State requirements.
- Employment in Head Start, Early Head Start and Migrant and Seasonal Head Start Programs is contingent upon approval of the Policy Council.
