Position Summary:
 
The Child Care Business Resource Specialist is responsible for supporting the implementation of the Shared Services Alliance (SSA) Network Pilot Project within the Child Care Resource Connection (CCRC) program. CCRC is a program within the Child, Youth and Family Services Division (CYFS), and the Resource Specialist will be serving as an expert in small business finance. Works in conjunction with the SSA Pilot team to identify resources, analyze data, and support individual small businesses with their Business Improvement Plans. Engages in mutually respectful, positive, goal-oriented partnerships with child care businesses and CCRC staff to promote positive outcomes as outlined in the SSA Pilot Program Plan and deliverables. Supports CAPSLO’s mission and vision by empowering child care business owners/operators with information and resources that promote business viability and increased economic self-sufficiency.      
 
Required Education and Experience:
  1. Must have a Bachelor’s Degree in Child Development, Business, Finance or equivalent experience. 
  2. Must have experience working with small businesses, setting goals, and achieving outcomes. A combination of relevant education and experience will also be considered. 
  3. Must be bilingual and biliterate in English and Spanish.  
Essential Functions:
  1. Provides interactive in-person or virtual workshops and coaching to build child care business viability through skill-building, data analysis and identification of efficiencies.     
  2. Develops and maintains strong professional relationships with child care business owners/operators.
  3. Reviews data (including but not limited to enrollment, cost per child, fee collection, budget and pre/post surveys) and assists with data analysis, pilot testing, documentation and articulation of successes, challenges and opportunities.     
  4. Follows all procedures and maintains accurate notes and records. 
  5. Analyzes and evaluates program data with SSA team and makes recommendations to promote a successful, replicable SSA.
