Demonstrates competency in providing high quality early learning programs for children 0-5 years of age in center and home based programs consistent with the Child Development program's philosophy and goals.
Teaches, as assigned, any or all subjects appropriate to 0-5 early childhood as identified in the Head Start Early Learning Outcomes Framework (ELOF) and/or California Preschool Learning Foundations and/or California Infant/Toddler Learning & Development Foundations to meet Head Start and/or State Preschool requirements. Plans and implements learning experiences that are developmentally appropriate early childhood practices within the assigned setting of home- or center-based. Developmental education domains which support: early literacy, early numeracy, social studies, science, social/emotional development, physical development, fine arts, and health and safety, using the courses of study adopted by the Child Development contracts. Work Year and Salary:
10-month position (188 Days)
Appropriate placement on the Child Development Certificated Salary Schedule. ($50,325 to $66,340 annually)
12-month position (220 Days)
Appropriate placement on the Child Development Certificated Salary Schedule. ($58,890 to $77,633 annually)
QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum
BA/BS Degree or higher in Child Development or related field and a current Child Development Teacher Permit, or hired with a minimum of an AA/AS in Child Development under a conditional employment agreement to obtain a BA/BS in Child Development or related field and at a minimum of a current Child Development Teacher Permit. First Aid and Pediatrice CPR certification, Clear Criminal Background check DOJ, FBI CACI AND DPSS
If assigned to Infant/Toddler, possess 6 units of infant/toddler coursework. If candidate does not have the 6 units, he/she will have one year from the date of hire to acquire the units.
If assigned to center-based, must possess at least two years of experience in a classroom or group setting with young children.
If assigned to home-based, must possess at least one year experience in child development and early childhood education. If assigned to home-based, must have a valid California Driver's License, be able to conduct home visits as needed, and provide own transportation and vehicle insurance
