  • BA Degree in Child Development or related field required, Master’s Degree preferred
  • Must hold or qualify for a Program Directors Permit. Visit for permit requirements.
  • Six (6) years of supervisory experience in Child Development or related field 
  • Minimum of five years of related work experience and supervision of adults
  • Knowledge of Head Start Performance Standards, Title 5 and 22 
  • Knowledge of DRDP, CLASS certification, ERS, Creative Curriculum and Teaching Pyramid is highly desired
  • Proof of COVID-19 vaccination or consent to weekly testing with exemption
  • Ability to lift and/or move up to 10-30 pounds and occasionally up to 50 pounds
  • Valid California driver license and insured reliable transportation. 


  • ensures quality program planning and development
  • provides the necessary training and resources to ensure that each employee has the tools and ability to achieve their key result responsibilities
  • coordinates curriculum, social/emotional health, coaching and CLASS implementation to ensure systems offer high quality outcomes/fidelity
  • ensures effective pass-down information and work systems are clearly communicated to all employees within assigned division
  • identifies training needs of staff and arranges in-service trainings to meet those needs 
  • ensures accountability and appropriate practices are in place
  • oversees compliance with all funding regulations, including the State’s Funding Term and Conditions and the Head Start Performance Standards
  • provides accurate data and information to public schools, public agencies and state and federal entities in a collaboration effort to develop programs and services for families
  • assists in policy development and completion of program reports
  • assists other division managers with new programs and/or services
